Anthem Blue Cross offers DPPO Individual/Family plans. If you use a non-network dentists, you will pay the difference between what your dentist charges and what is their allowable reimbursement.
Blue Shield offers Dental HMO and Dental PPO plans. The HMO plans have extremely restricted networks and do not provide out of network coverage. The DPPO plans offer in-network and out-of-network dentists. If you use a non-network dentist, you will pay the difference between what your dentist charges and what is their allowable reimbursement.
Delta Dental offers two networks of dentists; the PPO and the Premier network. The Premier network offers many more dentists than the PPO network but the premiums are higher. They offer three different levels of benefits, the Gold, Platinum and Diamond. VSP vision can be added to your plan.
Spirit Dental offers Indemnity plans and Dental PPO plans. The Indemnity plan allows you to see any dentist and will reimburse dental expenses based upon a percentage of the Reasonable and Customary (R&C) fees for those covered expenses. They offer two PPO networks: the DHA Premier and Careington networks. Coverage in-network will be more generous then coverage out-of-network.
